Preheat oven to 350° F. In a small mixer bowl at low speed, beat butter or margarine and cheese until blended. With motor running, slowly beat in flour and red pepper for 1 to 2 minutes or until well blended.
Stir in cereal, nuts and chives until well blended. Roll into balls using 1 teaspoon of the mixture per ball and place on ungreased baking sheets.* Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until bottoms are golden. Cool on wire racks. Store in airtight containers in a cool place.
* Crispies can be frozen on baking sheets, then stored in freezer bags until ready to bake.
