Place chicken and ham in a food processor bowl cover and process until minced, about 8 seconds.
Add butter or margarine, thyme, marjoram, salt and pepper. Process until well blended, about 3 seconds. Taste for additional salt and pepper.
Place optional bay leaf in bottom of a small crock or glass jar. Spoon in mixture and smooth top. Cover and chill.
Remove from refrigerator about 30 minutes before serving with crackers or bread.
