Preheat oven to 400°. Put water in pot and bring to a boil. Stir in grits and cook 4–5 minutes until thick, stirring frequently. Add garlic salt, cheese, and butter, and mix well. In a small bowl, beat eggs together with milk and add slowly to grits. Pour mixture into a greased baking dish and bake 30 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle bacon over top. Serve hot.
