Cover bottom and sides of cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Place 40 crackers side-by-side. Melt butter; add sugar. Bring to a rolling boil. Boil exactly 3 minutes. Stir often. Remove from heat and immediately pour gently over saltines. Bake 5–7 minutes (till bubbly brown) at 400°. Sprinkle chocolate chips over crackers and spread as they melt. Sprinkle on nuts. Refrigerate 2 hours. Break into pieces.
