Prairie Biscuits

Ingredients

2 cups flour (Natural White)
1/2 cup lard
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
4 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 cup buttermilk

Directions:

In bowl of flour, make a "well." Mix in lard (crumble the lard and flour with your hands) and work in the salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Sprinkle buttermilk into dough. Form a ball, knead on a floured surface or in hands. Form dough into size of biscuits desired and bake in hot Dutch oven over coals, or on greased cookie sheet in a preheated 450° oven until tannish in color.
