Marie's focus is her family and community. She is the mother of three daughters, Susan, Pat, and Kate, grandmother of two granddaughters, and wife of Murray Gilbert.
Marie is a very community-oriented person. She gets involved in her community of Hyde Park and her church and supports local business. Marie has always been concerned about her environment and about conserving our natural resources. She has done clean up in Hyde Park area for many years. She supports her local church with enthusiasm and dedication. Presently, she is president of the Hyde Park United Church Women's Group. She has been a volunteer at University Hospital in London, Ontario, for eighteen years. She has collected for the Cancer Society for many years and is a past member of the Women's Institute. Marie is always reliable, supportive, and full of energy.
Marie finds baking relaxing and enjoyable and enjoys good food, especially desserts. She is always available to assist with an unexpected funeral luncheon, and she assists with planning annual services dinners, strawberry teas, barbecues, Christmas bazaar's, and was a model for our local fashion show. Marie's favorite Betty Crocker product is Betty Crocker butter pecan cake mix topped with maple fudge icing. Marie has been involved with the publishing of three community cookbooks.
Marie Gilbert's energy, enthusiasm, and cheerful disposition are truly contagious, and she is a pillar of her community.
