1/3 cup onions minced
4 tablespoons chili powder or to taste
1 clove garlic minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon oregano dried, crushed
1/2 teaspoon cumin ground
1 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 cups pork steaks cubed cooked
1 15-ounce can pinto beans drained*
2 cups white rice hot cooked
Combine onion, chili powder, garlic, salt, oregano, and cumin in saucepan. Stir in water; bring to boil, lower heat, and simmer until reduced to 1 cup. Stir in pork and pinto beans. Simmer for 15 minutes. Serve over rice in soup bowls.
* If you prefer a more soupy consistency, use beans undrained.
