Here’s how to make a pretty ice ring for the punch bowl: Arrange fruit pieces in the bottom of a ring-shaped cake pan or decorative gelatin mold. Choose a combination of pineapple chunks, peach slices, mandarin orange segments, maraschino cherries and fresh or frozen berries. Add enough water (distilled water makes for a more clear ice ring) or fruit juice to partially cover the fruit and hold it in place. Freeze. Add more of the same liquid to fill the mold freeze until firm. To loosen the ice ring, dip the mold briefly in hot water. Remove the ice ring and float it, fruit side up, in the punch bowl.
