Comforting Southern Cake:
Combine all ingredients except nuts and powdered sugar; beat for 3 minutes. Stir in nuts; pour batter into a greased and floured Bundt® pan. Bake at 325 degrees for one hour. While cake is still hot, poke holes all over with a toothpick; slowly pour glaze over cake. Let cake cool in pan. Invert onto serving platter; sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Glaze:
Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in water and sugar; boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in bourbon or orange juice.
Tip: Cut cake into cubes and layer in parfait glasses with pudding, fruit or ice cream...a tasty dessert just like Mom used to make.
