In a plastic zipping bag, toss beef cubes with flour, salt, and pepper; place beef in a slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients except beans and pasta; stir well. Cover and cook on low setting for 9 to 10 hours, until beef is tender. Shortly before serving time, increase heat to high setting. Stir in beans and pasta. Cover and cook on high setting for 8 to 12 minutes longer, until pasta is tender.
Tip: The ultimate comfort food...place a scoop of mashed potatoes in the center of a soup bowl, then ladle hearty stew all around.
