Here’s how to make a pretty ice ring for the punch bowl: Arrange fruit pieces in the bottom of a ring-shaped cake pan or decorative gelatin mold. Choose a combination of pineapple chunks, peach slices, mandarin orange segments, maraschino cherries and fresh or frozen berries. Add enough water (distilled water makes for a more clear ice ring) or fruit juice to partially cover the fruit and hold it in place. Freeze. Add more of the same liquid to fill the mold; freeze until firm. To loosen the ice ring, dip the mold briefly in hot water. Remove the ice ring and float it, fruit side up, in the punch bowl.
