Some old saws never die. "I am living proof that the best way to a man's heart is his stomach," says Barbara Benton. "After our first blind date, Don called the very next evening--a Friday night--to ask me out over the weekend. I was going out of town, so he asked me for that same night. I couldn't because I was right in the middle of making cinnamon rolls. 'Homemade cinnamon rolls?' 'Yes,' I said, 'and you're welcome to come over and try some.' So he did, and to this day he tells everyone that he was already attracted to me, but after tasting the cinnamon rolls he knew it could be a lot more. A year and a half later we were married." As the French say, "without bread, love is nothing."
