Cook pasta according to package directions, just until tender; drain. Meanwhile, in a deep skillet, brown sausage with red pepper flakes over medium heat; drain. Add onion and garlic; cook until tender. Stir in tomatoes, half-and-half and salt. Reduce heat to low and simmer until thickened, about 8 to 10 minutes. Stir in cooked pasta. Garnish with chopped parsley or rosemary, if desired.
Tip: Store onions and garlic away from other produce, in a dark well-ventilated pantry...they can cause other vegetables to soften when stored together.
