1 Place a rack in the center of the oven. Preheat the oven to 450°F. Trim off the base of the asparagus at the point where the stem turns from white to green.
2 Place the asparagus in a baking pan large enough to hold them in a single layer. Drizzle with oil and salt. Roll the asparagus from side to side to coat them with the oil.
3 Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until the asparagus are just tender.
