Taco Soup

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds hamburger
1 package taco seasoning mix
1 onion, chopped
1 (16-ounce) can tomato juice
1 (15-ounce) can whole tomatoes
1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
1 (15-ounce) can corn
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
Garnish: slightly crushed tortilla chips, sour cream, grated Cheddar cheese, salsa

Directions:

Brown hamburger and onion in stock pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.

Drain fat, then add the rest of the ingredients except the garnish items. Simmer on low heat for 35 to 40 minutes.

Put tortilla chips into bottom of serving bowl and spoon on hot soup.

Top with cheese and other garnish, serve immediately.
