1. Rinse the squid tail sections, drain, and cut crosswise into 1/2- to 1-inch rings. Put the rings in a bowl. In a pie plate, mix together the flour and bread crumbs.
2. In a deep fryer or medium heavy skillet, heat about 1 1/2 inches of oil until it shimmers. Dredge the squid in the flour mixture a few at a time, and fry in hot oil until golden, about 1 minute. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle lightly with salt. Serve hot with lime wedges and a dipping sauce.
