My husband and two sons try other chocolate chip cookies and tell me there's no comparison with mine. My husband doesn't even like chocolate! They're nice and crisp.

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 cups packed light brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 eggs
4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons salt
2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, shortening, sugars and vanilla. Beat in eggs. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
