1. Heat oven to 375°F. Grease 8-inch square (2-quart) baking dish. In large bowl, combine apples, brown sugar, lemon peel, nutmeg and lemon juice mix well.
2. In medium bowl, combine bread crumbs and margarine sprinkle 1/2 cup bread crumb mixture in greased baking dish. Spoon apple mixture over crumb mixture top with remaining bread crumb mixture. Cover with foil.
3. Bake at 375°F. for 45 to 50 minutes or until apples are almost tender. Uncover bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes or until top is crisp and golden brown. Serve warm with half-and-half.
