You don’t need a special device to squeeze frosting through a decorating tip. If you’re using several different decorating colors, you can make your own tubes. Fold a square sheet of waxed paper or parchment in half diagonally. Starting with the longest edge, roll it into a cone shape. Cut off the pointed end and push the decorating tip down the cone and into the opening. Fill the cone with frosting, roll down the open end and squeeze with even pressure. Practice on a plate or scrap of waxed paper before working directly on the cake.
