1. Place beans in Dutch oven add water until about 1 inch above beans. Bring to a boil. Boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat cover and let stand 1 hour.
2. Drain and discard water. Add all remaining ingredients to beans mix well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until beans are tender, stirring occasionally.
