1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 9-inch springform pan. In medium bowl, combine margarine and 1/4 cup sugar beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and egg beat well. Add flour, baking powder and salt blend well.
2. Spread dough over bottom and 1 inch up sides of greased pan. Arrange peach slices in spoke fashion over dough.
3. In small bowl, combine 3 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon mix well. Sprinkle over peaches and edges of dough.
4. Bake at 350°F. for 30 to 35 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool 10 minutes remove sides of pan. Serve warm or cool.

Variation
Pear-Cardamom Kuchen: Add 1 teaspoon cardamom with flour. Substitute 1 (29-oz.) can pear halves, well drained and sliced, for peaches. In topping, add 1/2 teaspoon cardamom and decrease cinnamon to 1/8 teaspoon.
