1. Cook rice in water as directed on package.
2. Meanwhile, in large saucepan or Dutch oven, combine sausage, onions, garlic and chiles. Cook 8 to 10 minutes or until sausage is well browned. Drain. Stir in all remaining ingredients except rice and cheese. Cook over medium heat 30 to 45 minutes or until slightly thickened.
3. To serve, ladle chili over cooked rice in individual serving bowls sprinkle with cheese.
