1. In medium saucepan, bring 1 cup water to a boil. Add green beans cover and cook over medium heat for 6 to 8 minutes or until beans are crisp-tender. Drain return beans to saucepan.
2. In small skillet, melt margarine over medium heat. Add onion and garlic cook, stirring frequently, until onion begins to brown.
3. Add onion mixture to cooked beans cook until thoroughly heated. Add cheese toss gently to mix.
