1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
2. Butter a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish.
3. In a medium sized mixing bowl, whisk together condensed soup, mayonnaise, beaten egg, and, if desired, chopped onion.
4. Place broccoli in a large mixing bowl. Pour soup-mayonnaise mixture on top of broccoli and mix well. Add pimento and cheese, mix well.
5. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish and smooth top of casserole using a spatula. Sprinkle lightly with paprika plus salt & pepper if desired.
6. Bake at 350° F for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Serve hot.
