In a large pot combine chicken, onions, carrots, green beans, corn, chicken broth, barbecue spice, salt, and thyme. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.
Mix dumpling dough according to Bisquick package directions. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto hot vegetables and chicken.* Cook uncovered for 10 minutes. Then cover and cook 10 more minutes. Liquid should gently bubble.
Serve in soup bowls. A bowl of peaches or cut-up melons goes nicely with this dish.
*You can opt to cook the dumplings as biscuits on a pancake grill in a very small amount of butter.
