Measure oatmeal into blender and blend to a fine powder. Beat together butter and sugars until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. Stir until blended. Add chocolate chips, and walnuts. Roll into balls and place two inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake at 375°F for 10 minutes.
