Beat together in mixer bowl sugar and 1 cup butter until fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Add eggs beating just until blended. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Stir into creamed mixture. Spoon half the mixture into another bowl. In small saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons butter. Stir in cocoa and beat until smooth. Stir into remaining batter. Drop spoonfuls of chocolate mixture checker board fashion in a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Fill in spaces with remaining light batter. Zigzag batter with spatula. Bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes or until center springs back when touched lightly. Cool. Top with ice cream and Fudge Sauce.
