Mash enough berries to measure 2 cups. (If using frozen berries, mash all of them) In saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch. Stir in mashed berries and water. Mix well. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Cook and stir for 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Pour into large bowl. Chill for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly warm. Fold in remaining fresh berries. Spoon into pie crust. Chill. In small mixing bowl, whip cream until soft peaks form. Add 1/4 cup sugar and vanilla. Dollop on individual slices.
