Combine pie filling mix, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water in medium saucepan. Separate eggs putting egg whites in mixer bowl and setting aside. Stir egg yolks into pudding mixture. Add remaining 2 cups water and cook over medium high heat until it comes to a boil and thickens, stirring constantly. Let boil for 1 minute. Pour into baked pie crust. Make meringue by beating egg whites until fluffy. Add remaining 1/2 cup sugar and beat until stiff peaks form, about 5 minutes. Do not under beat. Spread on top of filling forming small peaks with back of spoon. Bake at 450°F for 2 to 3 minutes or until peaks turn brown and meringue is puffy. Cool.
