1. Heat oven to 350°.
2. Place oats and salt in a bowl, cover with boiling water.
3. Melt butter in small skillet over medium heat. Add apples.
4. Stir together brown sugar and cinnamon and mix well. Add to apples and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Spread in bottom of 2-quart baking dish that has been coated with cooking spray.
5. Add milk to oat mixture and pour over apples..
6. Bake for 30 minutes.
7. Serve with milk or half and half.
