1. Pre-heat waffle iron.
2. In medium bowl mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
3. Whisk together egg, oil and milk. Stir into dry ingredients until smooth.
4. Dip bread slices into batter and place on waffle iron that has been coated with cooking spray. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown.
5. Serve with maple syrup.
