1. Melt butter in saucepan on medium-high heat.
2. Add flour and whisk until smooth
3. Add 1 cup milk and whisk until smooth. Gradually add remaining 2 cups milk and bouillon, stirring until smooth and bouillon dissolved. Cook until bubbly and thickened.
4. Heat oven to 400°.
5. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in mixing bowl. Add shortening and mix on low until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Crumble sausage into hot skillet and cook until browned. Drain and set aside.
6. Add 3/4 cup milk and stir until flour is moistened. Turn onto lightly floured surface and knead until dough is smooth.
7. Roll into rectangle about 1/4-inch thick.
8. Sprinkle sausage over dough and roll from the bottom up, keeping dough as tight as possible. With a sharp knife, cut into 1-inch slices.
9. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
10. Spoon sauce over top and sprinkle with egg yolk.
