1. Spread butter lightly on each side of bread slices.
2. Using a round cookie cutter, or other round shape, cut a circle in the center of each bread slice.
3. Arrange bread slices in skillet over low-heat. Carefully drop an egg into the center of each slice.
4. Cook slowly until egg is set and bread is browned on the bottom. Turn and brown on the other side. Salt and pepper as desired.
5. Cook cut out circles along with the bread slices to serve on the side.
