1. Heat milk until warm. Pour about a 1/4 cup into small bowl and add yeast. Set aside.
2. Add 3 tablespoons butter to remaining milk and heat until melted.
3. Whisk together flour, sugar and salt in a bowl.
4. Add milk-butter mixture and beat thoroughly.
5. Stir in eggs, one at a time.
6. Add yeast mixture and stir well.
7. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
8. Melt 2 teaspoons butter in skillet. Add apple and sprinkle with brown sugar. Let cook for 3 to 4 minutes until apples are tender. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
8. Heat ebelskiver pan and spray each mold with cooking spray. Pour a tablespoon batter into each mold.
9. Add a teaspoon of apple filling in center of appleskiver. Let cook for about 1 minute or until bubbles from around edge. Turn with a fork and cook on other side for 1 to 2 minutes until thoroughly cooked.
10. Remove from pan and dip in Vanilla Syrup.
