1. Chill large mixing bowl and beaters of electric mixer.
2. In another large bowl combine milk and water. Add pudding mix. Beat with wire whisk for 2 minutes. Cover and refrigerate for 5 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, in chilled bowl beat whipping cream on medium speed of electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Fold together pudding mixture and whipped cream.
4. In 2 1/2-quart serving bowl layer 1 cup of pudding mixture. Top with 12 wafers, one-third of bananas and one-third of remaining pudding mixture. Repeat layers 2 more times, ending with pudding mixture. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours. Garnish as desired. Store in refrigerator.
