1. Soak crackers in milk for ten minutes. Add sugar, beaten egg yolks, butter, vanilla and nutmeg.
2. Pour mixture into a well buttered baking dish, set in dish pan of hot water and bake in 350°F oven for 30 to 40 minutes. Allow to cool slightly.
3. Spread layer of favorite jelly on top. Cover with meringue made from egg whites and sugar and return to oven until a delicate brown.
