1. In 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish toss together apples, dates, sugar, orange juice, cinnamon and nutmeg.
2. In small bowl toss together cookies, margarine or butter and nuts. Sprinkle over apple mixture. Bake at 350°F about 30 mintues or until apples are tender. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
